As some of you might know already every Monday I'm cooking a special set of Mexican food. Burritos, tacos, mole....

メニューにないお料理をセットとしてご用意しています。

This Monday special is Tamales.
本日！！20日月曜のスペシャルメニューはタマレスです！

Tamal is a traditional Latin America food made with corn starch filled with meat or fruits wrapped in a leaf. You can find them in different countries around America. They are originated as early as 8000 to 5000 BC in Mesoamerica and were eaten by Aztecs, Mayas, Olmecas and Toltecas.
タマレスはラテンアメリカの伝統的なお料理。
とうもろこしの粉と、お肉、フルーツなどを葉っぱでつつんで蒸したものです。
それぞれの地方で様々な種類があります。


In Mexico, tamales are everywhere. We traditionally eat them during festivities like Christmas, New Year, Dia de Muertos, Posadas, Mexican Independence Day and birthdays or baptism parties. It's also very common to have them for breakfast with a cup of hot "atole", a sweet beverage made with corn or rice flour and could have different flavors such as strawberry, vanilla, chocolate, cinnamon, guava, etc.
